Community Groups
Be a part of the new Christchurch
Greater Christchurch must have strong leadership and a programme for effective change that delivers benefits quickly and allows for continual and adaptive growth.
The Recovery Plan is ambitious but deliberate in its programme of delivery. The design and development of the anchor projects will begin immediately and people will start to see the benefits by the end of 2013. The support of the community of greater Christchurch and New Zealand is crucial to success.
Greater Christchurch's infrastructure remains strong. Our city is still vibrant. The people of Christchurch are still committed. The central city now needs community groups to continue to grow it and contribute to its uniqueness.
The Re:START mall is proving popular and will continue to develop. Many other exciting initiatives are emerging and evolving in the central city, and there exists a number of opportunities for community groups to be involved in the city's regeneration.
Christchurch Central Recovery Plan community meetings
CERA held community meetings about the Christchurch Central Recovery Plan during August, these meetings were held at the Christchurch Horticultural Centre.
These were opportunities to hear from CERA’s Christchurch Central Development Unit about the design and Plan for the new central city.
